Happy Monday all, and welcome back from the holiday weekend. I don’t know about y’all, but I won’t be eating again until mid-January. We do know that a few turkeys survived last Thursday’s bloodbath however, thanks to today’s Daily TwitPic. “Juno” director Jason Reitman knows it too.

Reitman was flying somewhere last week, and he posted an amusing image showing us a scene from the airport. I don’t think Presidential pardoned turkeys on his flight could really be responsible for bumping him (or anyone else) back to economy class seating, but it’s a funny thought. All of those turkeys, getting the nice seats up front, a big steak dinner, free champagne… amenities and comfort. All while their kin are carved to pieces and eaten across the country. Do you think these two have any idea of what they avoided? They certainly look unconcerned.

The Thanksgiving holiday weekend proved a favorable occasion for vampire enthusiasts and family drama lovers alike as “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” and “The Blind Side” emerged in the top two seats at the box office by Sunday’s conclusion.

“New Moon” may have shattered records left and right during its opening weekend, but the much-buzzed Sandra Bullock starring “The Blind Side” did quite well for itself under the gargantuan shadow of the “Twilight” crowd. One weekend later, the two films are performing almost equally as “New Moon” finished the weekend with $42.5 million and “The Blind Side” roped in $40.1 million.

While “The Blind Side” was unable to fully dethrone “New Moon” — even though it did steal the first place seat on Thanksgiving day — the heartwarming tale overcame Roland Emmerich’s big budget disaster flick, “2012.” Now in its third week in theaters, “2012″ took the bronze medal for the weekend with an $18 million intake. Even if the doomsday film is cooling off in the United States, “2012″ has amassed a hefty chunk of change through international ticket sales, resulting in a worldwide cumulative total of $594.5 million.

The weekend’s new releases experienced a varied degree of success. “Old Dogs” managed a fourth place finish thanks to the combined star power of Robin Williams and John Travolta, yielding $16.8 million by Sunday’s end. “Ninja Assassin,” the WB’s martial arts action film produced by the Wachowski siblings, landed in fifth place on Friday but slipped into sixth by the end of the weekend with only $13.1 million. “The Road,” the Viggo Mortensen-starring drama from the Weinsteins, performed admirably in just 111 movie theaters with $1.5 million over three days.

It was always my understanding that ninja were so fearsome that no foe or monster — vampires included — could withstand their stealthy skills, but my preconceived notions have been dashed by the box office debut of “Ninja Assassin,” the WB’s latest action epic produced by the Wachowski siblings.

Despite all the ninja goodness promised by the film’s premise, “Ninja Assassin” couldn’t topple the supernatural romantic powerhouse that is “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” which remained the decisive victor at yesterday’s box office. Instead, “Ninja Assassin” face-planted in the company of “New Moon” and its competitors — which is not an unprecedented move for ninja, mind you — by landing in fifth place with a mere $5.7 million, bringing the film’s cumulative total to $13.5 million since Wednesday.

As if losing to a pack of vampires wasn’t enough, “Ninja Assassin” also fell in the face of “Old Dogs,” the John Travolta and Robin Williams-starring family comedy that earned a fourth place finish on Friday and has amassed a cumulative total of $14.2 million since opening on Wednesday. The soft opening and defeat at the hands of the Disney comedy isn’t exactly the greatest start for “Ninja Assassin,” but the weekend isn’t quite over yet. Additionally, “Ninja Assassin’s” estimated budget of $40 million isn’t so insurmountable even at the film’s current pace.

While “New Moon” managed to keep its fangs firmly buried in the box office’s top seat, the film suffered a brief snafu of its own. The Sandra Bullock-starring “The Blind Side” managed a first place finish on Thanksgiving, generously offering Robert Pattinson and his “Twilight” contemporaries a slice of holiday humble pie. The lead was short-lived, however, as “The Blind Side” finished in second place on Friday with $16.2 million.

An enticing self-raising flour for a “variable wars” palm nut like me, and the real life of it did not disillusion.

Former, I got to the presentation — staged in the same high that hockeys new york islanders morality play — to trace a nearly packed soddy, featuring an odd ready-mix of steward-accompanied children (many of them dressed in masquerade for the occasion) and aged 25-35 adults, folks like me who grew up with the movies.

The rock concert actually came off very artesian well. The philharmonic is londons royal philharmonic, and anthony daniels did indeed ace as the mc. we introduced every number in the context of how the syncopation fits into the folktale. During each retraction, rake-off up scenes from the movies played on a massive wide screen in the background, carry out with voice effects and dialogue.

The overall bandwagon effect reminded me of that dark in “joint return of the jedi,” when threepio describes his adventures so far to a gathered circuit of ewoks.
